Scuba diving Oahu is your gateway to a magical underwater world. A world that you can actually become a part of.

Oahu is the most populated Hawaain island and it also has the largest number of scuba diver training companies, most companies are located in Honolulu and offer transportation to and from Waikiki hotels.  Most of the diving schools offer different levels of scuba diving from advanced to beginner. Some will specialize in advanced courses while others will focus on novice and intermediate. Almost all the local dive companies offer certification courses, as well as introductory scuba dives for those who’ve never tried it before. No experience is required, just the desire.

When taking your scuba diving lessons most diving trainers will give you the right advice and safety procedures before you embark on your first diving experience . They will take you to any diving spot you want in Oahu and there are plenty. With the help of your scuba trainer, you will be able to swim around brillant coral reefs and observe several tropical fish. You will remain in shallow water the entire time. From world famous wreck dives to shallow reef dives with turtles, Oahu has something to offer every level of scuba diver.

A large variety of sea life can be observed in their natural environment at Shark Cove, which is located on the north shore. The reef can only be accessed during calm seas. Inside the bay is well-protected from big waves by offshore reefs and by lava peninsulas on the both sides, making this a superb swimming beach for families with small children. It is also a good place to watch whales, during the whale season.The majestic fish and colorful reefs native to the Hawaiian islands will leave you in awe. If you decide to go diving a Sharks Cove, be careful of the sharp rocks whe going in.

Diving the sheltered seas and colorful reefs of Hanauma Bay attracts many visitors and locals alike. Hanauma Bay has over four hundred different species of tropical fish of which 30-40% indigenous to Hawaii. The Mahi Waianae, a large ship, went down in the 80’s just south of Waianae Bay and today it serves as an articficial reef.

Oahu contains just about anything that a scuba diver can imagine including sea turtles, hundreds of tropical fish, sharks, and frog fish. Plane Corsair, the only naturally sunk wreck, at the east side of the Island. In that time 3 ghost nets have been removed from Oahu reefs. A total length of 500+ feet recovered in depths up to 200 feet. Due to its distance, the offshore coral reefs remain the most flourishing in the islands, and the variety of tropical fish, sharks and even the occational sea turtles will give the diver the experice of a lifetime . The beach gets very crowded during the tourist peak season, and can almost be unpleasant.
